[IMG] Hello all. I have installed SoA and ToB. I also installed the latest patch. I installed them off of the original discs..which always worked fine on my old PC. When the game starts and I have to make the choice to play one or the other..I can choose SoA perfectly fine and it runs good. When I click to start ToB though..the game crashes. I have tried reinstalling..but that didn't do the trick. I find it kind of odd that I can start a SoA game fine but not ToB. I'm running Windows 7..

Hokay, there are a couple of things to try:
    1. Have you installed the most up to date patches? v. 26498 is the minimum, but v. 26499 may be necessary on later editions of Windows (it's what I have to use). Reading your OP, it is probable that you've only installed up to v. 26498. Fortunately, you can download the later patch from SP, here
    2. Have you installed your game under C:bad:Program Files\? Windows' UAC (User Account Control) throws a tantrum with old-school games in this directory; try uninstalling & re-installing somewhere else (like C:bad:Games\, for example)
    3. Similarly, take care with compatibility modes. Setting BGMain.exe's compatibility to WinXP & having it "Run as Administrator" can help keep that irksome UAC at bay
    4. Long shot option; try switching to windowed mode (Alt+Enter) before selecting SoA or ToB. Usually, this is a workaround for starting multiplayer games, one that I found out about on these very boards :p, and it may help here, but I'd try 1-3 first.
Hopefully, one of these should help. :)

Thanks! I reinstalled under a different directory and now it's working great. :)
