[IMG] Though I don't play the PnP-style of D&D, I love to make characters. This time I'm creating an other cleric, with a decent, rather good Charisma. I want to give him the Gather Information-skill as a class skill in stead of Cross-class Skill. Only rogues get this as a Class Skill, but I don't want to dual my character to a rogue.
Since i don't want my character to be more powerfull then usuall, I would have to give up something to compensate.
Since I don't have a party or a DM, and I want someone else besides me to choose, I would like you to ask what I should do to make a fair character.
Should I turn one of my Class-Skills into cross-class (which)? Should I get a slight XP-penalty?
Post your opinions and ideas here please.
    Thanks.

    Lokken's solution would seem fitting...

Otherwise you'd end up with a lot of weird changes and bending of the rules :)

it's a feat from forgotten realms campaign setting (FRCS).

A non-exclusive/prohibited skill(read cross class skill ;) ) forever becomes a class skill to you, and you get a +2 bonus to checks concerning that skill.

A sort of powerful skill focus. I believe you can only pick it at lvl 1, but dont hold me on that one.

[IMG] Thank you so very much, Lokken!

It's right here on page 34. Should have read better and should have read more.

    Other question here:
Cosmopolitan has Regional Requirement (Amn, Waterdeep). I can get a 'foreign' Regional Feat when I spend 2 points in Knowledge(Local). "A character who choses Knowledge(Local) must specify the region his knowledge applies to.(p.9 FRCS)" That does not mean I must have been or born there right? :heh:

Well, no. Unless your character exists in the Forgotten Realms setting. Even so, there should be nothing wrong with him being born elsewhere and coming to that region.

either born there or have spent time in the area (I think it suggest 2 months). Although as said, if you dont play a FR world, you could just use the feat without meeting that prereq

[IMG] I play my character in Faerun and I don't want to get these feats that easy. It just feels like some sort of cheating.
I will now probably add some info about my relation with one of these regions, like some sort of divine task or whatever.
I'm also thinking of StreetSmart, so that will probably lead me to Amn.
I'm planning to make a Morninglord of Lathander or a Silverstar of Selune, tracking Undeads for the Slayers Society. He has more interest in slaying the churches enemies, then his 'Brothers in Faith'. Blabla. For that cause I need to be well informed and gather information about weird happenings throughout the realms, yaddayadda.

Many thanks for the help! If you think of something else, don't hesitate and let me know. ;)
