    While you can access some of the elements on-line and get some accessories free, you will probably have to buy some of the books in order to get all that you need. Check out the Wizards of the Coast site.

    Sorry people for reserecting an ancient topic (OK, not that old) but its possible to download for free the 2nd edition PHB, DMG, Monsterous manual and tome of magic. I can't remember the exact site and I'm sure its perfectly illegal and all. (even though the books are out of print!)
