Does anyone miss fighting the hordes of Darkspawn. That was one thing I missed in DA2. Sure there are the occassional Darkspawn fights, but most of the time you are fighting common rabble.

I miss the battles against the Hurlocks, Genlocks and the gigantic ogres.

Not particularly, actually. I fought plenty of them in Origins, and had fun doing so, but don't feel the need to do the same thing in this game. There are several other things from Origins that I miss in DA2, however.

It made sense that there were less darkspawn in DA2. The blight had ended, after all.

I hate the second game, to me the dragon age games are about the grey wardens and the darkspawn. I think a better story would have revolved around the blight continuing despite the death of the archdemon, that the grey wardens were wrong and fighting this new reason for a continued blight.

[IMG] It makes me wonder why they set the game after a blight, and not just during the one in DA:O... but I did find darkspawn battles a bit monotonous, so I don't miss it that much. Even in the DA:O Deep Roads, the hordes were just filler, while the golems and other beasts were the real challenges. I kinda like the variety of the new challenges:)

My biggest dislikes of DA2 are the companion armor, weapon specialization=limitations and the AI: I can't order my party to simply retreat and wait, i have to keep pulling them back every 2 seconds. And I hate how my team just commits suicide with AoE damage in nightmare mode, although this is probably just my laziness, not disabling those abilities in the AI.. DA:O AI was simpler:)

Dragon Age is not about Darkspwans it is about the time of Dragon Age on the Thedas Calendar, which is 100 years. I believe the game ends with 960, which leaves 40 years for the rest of the Dragon Age.

As for the series itself and Darkspawn; I don't think they will go away, but I don't believe that they will be as prominent as they were in DAO.
