Some fucking asshole just emailed me, telling me to repent my evil ways and accept Jesus as my savior or burn in hell.
Now you lot know why I hate paladins/christians/fundamentalist-dipsticks?
Now those 2 Christian priests I've got locked in my basement are going to suffer even more for the sins of their flock!!!

They're far more fun when they pull you up in street and try to tell you *all* about Jesus etc. At least then you can question the basis of their arguments. (And lets face it, the arguments are usually crap!)

Remember having some fun when a couple of Jehova's Witnesses turned up on the door. I showed them through to my dad who is a born again Christian. He only spent about an hour trying to convert them to CofE! :D Oooh what fun.

They never came back either..... :)

Isn't Mircosoft and Bill Gates the Devil? And Shura chill out, if you don't want to read the Email just delete it. And JW are such fun. They won't stop debating - ever. It's like debate practice with someone who doesn't know how to quit.

Viking- ROTF! That reminds me of what my grandfather used to do to them. Too funny! I usually just smile and wave at them through the window of my securely locked front door.

[IMG] dont know where you guys come up with this stuff. i have worked with two J.W.s for 4 years and not once have they mentioned Jesus or their beliefs to me or anybody else that they interact with.

there is a lady that lives in the same building as i who happens to be a J.W. and once again she doesn't push here beliefs on anyone around here. the only reason i know she is a J.W. is because she joined a conversation about spirituality i was having with a freind at a local reasteraunt.

just curious where you folks come up with this stuff?

Because JW are the only people I have ever had knocking on my front door, hoping to convert me. They seem to have some sort of recruitment rush once a year, and for as long as I can remember, they've been sending out members to hand out leaflets and meeting schedules. They dress up in their Sunday Best, and start canvassing neighborhoods. Maybe they don't do this everywhere, but it's a regular occurrence where I live.

My mom actually explored the religion for a while, while I was in High School. I went to a few meetings, and met some really nice people. I don't have anything against the religion or its followers. I would just rather they refrain from knocking at my door on such a regular basis... :)

[IMG] I do believe that JW are a very evangelical bunch. It is in their nature (and rule book) to ride around stuffed in a mini-van trying to bring the 'word' to the evil doers of the world. I am like Darien and don't really mind the visits - they just give me their literature and then they are off - quite harmless.

LOL! Just got this image of all those Witnesses stuffed in a mini-van, like all those clowns in that tiny little car at the circus... :D

[IMG] I agree with you guys. I don't think that JW are evil or anything. All the one's I have ever met are rather nice people. In addition I don't think spreading the word of God is a bad thing either. It just how you do it. The phrase "actions speak louder than words" comes to mind. I think you will have more impact by doing good deeds than simply talking to people. If the JW or any other religion spent their free time working on improving the community everone would be better off, and they would most likely have both a better reputation and thus more followers.

The only real issue I have with the JW or other right wing religions is their treatment of women. Females should be full and equal partners in any religion. but again all of the JW I have ever met was a good person.

My mum had a J.W knocking on her door before. He wouldn't stop coming back to her saying to her that Islam was all wrong etc. How bloody annoying and rude!

While on the topic of JW, does anyone here read Pratchett?
I'm sure he'd NEVER make fun or generalize them like you evil, evil people do, but...
Om is my light! Want a leaflet explaining it all? :D

The similar scene in Discworld Noir game was simply to die for. Literally and otherwise. :D
I wish I could extract that movie somehow and play it back. It was so... Pratchett. Hehe.

I would happily denounce any 'deity' from a hilltop. I shall then stroll back down the hill, balls swinging.
