Do you really need gold?

[IMG] I am only in the Dwarven Dungeon, so I'm not very far along in the game. I had a question for anyone who is closed to the end or who had even finished.

I have dutifully picked up any treasure I've found and taken the stuff I don't want to Nottle to sell. However, Nottle's inventory never seems to offer anything other than the basic stuff he had at the beginning.

Right now my characters have over 60,000 gold pieces, and I wonder if they will ever have anything to spend them on. If not, I'd like to stop lugging around items I'm only planning to sell to Nottle.

Can anyone tell me if gold is useful later in the game or if the party comes across a better-stocked merchant in other parts of Myth Drannor?

    Thanks for any help!
    David

    I'm in the same boat.
I've got more gold than I know what to do with. I've stopped picking up everything, and unless it's better than what I got I leave it

I would only bother with picking up magical stuff and stuff that would be worth a lot of money but not weigh a lot. There must be more places to use your gold later on probably some dwarves or other traders who snuck into Myth Drannor to scavenge for stuff.

I just found a door that is barred but it leads to the outside (not the same outside place you start)

It was 2 levels down from the main dungon. so my guess is that there will be more traders.

[IMG] Since I've made the post, I've found out you can buy stuff from another source towards the end of your adventure in the Dwarven Dungeon. (I won't include any spoilers.)

Frankly, however, these "people" have a selection almost as uninspired as Nottles. So I'm still not trying to lug everything around and then sell it for gold.

Visit the Ormyrrs in the bottom level (Deep Dungeon) of the Dwarven Halls if you want to buy from them. Frankly, with the pitiful selection items they have, it's not much worth the trip.
