Does Multiplayer really work well?

I'm done with the single player campaign and I think the game is worth the money. But the main reason for buying NWN is the unlimited multiplaying potential.

Problem is right now I'm seeing many problems occurring regarding multiplaying e.g. servers with not updated patches or hakpak causing black screen. Is there any more problem out there? And I heard the autopatching thing is a farce.

    Is Bioware doing some thing?

I haven't had much time to try it out, but I decided to just join a random server the other day. The server I tried was seemed to be very good, and the module it was running was very well made (Even all the NPCs I met had a conversation different from everyone else. None of them talked just crap either). It didn't seem like there was any "morons" playing there either, but I was at a much lower level than everyone else so I couldn't do much.

Considering that this was a random chosen server, I suppose multiplayer could be really fun.

I have had no real problems with the autopatch. It seems to mostly choose the Infogrames ftp site for me which seems slower and more error prone than the Bioware one. I had one time that all three downloads it did from Infogrames were extremely slow and failed, but then it switched to Bioware and it was quickly finished. I wish there was a way to tell it which ftp to choose :)

BTA, I have the same problem with the autopatcher. Last night, I downloaded the v1.22 patch with it. From the Infogrames ftp, it took me over 30 minutes on my second generation DSL. I agree that we should be able to choose which site to download from.

As to the issue of multiplayer, I've been having a heck of a time getting it to run. Usually, my computer crashes anytime I try to connect to a server, then when I restart the game, it crashes when loading. I think this is an issue that needs to be corrected.
