Saw it last weekend. I found it amazing. I even bought the DVD two days ago - I never found any use in buying movies, since I see it once and will once watch it again in years, but I did love this movie. Oh, I did took the chance and bought Conan The Barbarian as well, and plan on getting Excalibur eventually.
    Any thoughts on this one?

Haven't seen it. I't sounds interesting, but I'm not a big von Trier fan. Have you seen Riget?

It was a good movie, though I am also not a Lars von trier fan either - having seen 'The Idiots' , however thsi movie was very original and it was Nicole Kidman's best acting in many years.

I find it strange that it was branded anti-american though.

Branded anti-american? What is this, the 50's?

No. The only other movie I saw from him was "Europa". Good post-WWII germany setting.
I do not think Dogville is anti-american. I think it concerns more the moral degradation of men.
