This program is really useful, in that it allows me to play some of those old games that just wont run on modern machines. There's just one problem I have with one game.

When I run it in DosBox, it works fine, sound and everything. The problem is that the keyboard doesnt work. The keyboard works if I hit Alt+Enter to change from full screen to windowed, or if I hit cntrl + escape to go to desktop. But 'in game' I cant type anything. Trying to enter my name via keyboard and stuff like that just doesnt work.

Anyone have any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

Is your keyboard connected to the normal keyboard connector or to a usb port? I don't know if this can pose problems, but you should know that none of these dos programs support usb. That's also why if you start your win98 comp in safe mode, and you have such a device on the usb port, it doesn't work.

It's a normal keyboard connector. My mouse is USB, and that works fine in game.

I just run DOS games normally, I ran Wasteland and the Gold Box games without downloading any of that. The only one that needed a fix was the Microprose Magic:The Gathering game.

Well, unfortunately it wont run normally, since it says it needs an SVGA environment.

Do you use any kind of additional frontend with DosBox or just the vanilla console oriented program? Maybe switching to the other solution can resolve your problems. You could try D-Fend ordbfrontend. Or run DosBox from console if you already use a frontend.

    Do you run version 0.62?

I'm running 0.61. I just run the program's executable, and use the console that comes up.

Just installed X-Com: UFO Defense. Doesn't need DOSbox either.

Are the ones that need it only games like Sam and Max hit the Road and M:TG?

See, I had the install process go fine and everything, but there was no sound to be found, and frankly, subtitles don't do the game justice.

Yeah, that happened to me. But ScummVM is designed solely to run Scumm based games like Sam'n'max.
