    [IMG] Hi guys

I'm still rattling round the first dungeon, but I've lost 2 of my NPC's. There is just me(PC) who is a Fighter/Thief/Mage and Imoen. We have battled our way around to this dude called a Cambion, or is it Gambion! Anyway, this dude is in like a transparent bubble, and nothing I do can seem to hurt him. I made a mistake of starting combat with Imoen wearing some armour, so I can't use any of her many spells, and my PC don't have many either. Any clues?

If you fiddle with the machine just to the left of the Cambion, the bubble goes away, and you can fight him.

You can exit combat by moving away from your enemy. Once the battle music fades, at the start of the next round you can take off your armor.

As for the Cambion, look more carefully around the room.

[IMG] Hmmm, thanks you two, I did look to see if there was anyway to react with the machine, but couldn't see anything. As you say, I must look more closely.

You have to click the machine twice - one describes the function of the switch, the second click uses it.

Your mouse cursor should also change. It's similar to turning off that lightning memphit machine earlier in the dungeon.

Actually thrice IIRC. The second time you are given some sort of a warning.
Be careful. If the Cambion locks on to Imoen, she is toast.

Why bother giving Imoen any armour. She has a spell memorised, mage armor. Have her cast it on herself and she will have a better AC than with any of the currently available armours.
And how did you manage to loose Minsc and Jaheira? Use Power Word: Reload.

Hi, well it's easy to lose NPC's when you are playing the game for the first time. :) I'm feeling my way round the game, finding out what works in combat, finding out what spells do what to who, all that sort of thing. There seems to be a bit of a learning curve far as spells and combat is concerned. Also, as far as Imoen's Armour spell, can't you only use that once, then it's gone?

Mel Ti, I've noticed you have a lot of basic game mechanics questions from your posts in several threads. You should take a look (or a second look) at the manual for the game. There are also some on-line resources for explaining the basics. It can be pretty confusing if you've never played one of the other computer D&D games, or classic PnP.

When a magic-user or priest casts a spell, that spell is lost from memory until they rest. Check out the manual on this section for more details.
