The basic Idea behind D&D is that you and your friends get together and play a campain that eather the Dungeon Master created or that was bought. The first thing you need to play D&D is ther rulebooks. Once your DM understands all of the rule books and you (if your not the DM) and all other players understand the Player Handbook you create your charictors.

From there you start with easy short adventures. That get longer and harder as you gain levels.

[IMG] What is D&D and how do you play? To answer that I take up a lot of space to check this link for a full discription. http://www.enteract.com/~aardy/faq/rgfdfaq.html

If you are interested I'd suggest you pick up the player's Hand Book.

Let me know if you have any questions?

The main objective in the game is very important.

It is not to win but to HAVE FUN! That is the aim of the dungeons & dragons games...to have fun while also socialising with friends. Thats one reason i love the game...

Sniper has it right more than I did that the main porpose is to have fun wile hopfully not getting yourself or your friends killed. Allthow I suppose you could do deathmach using AD&D rules and thus porposely try to kill your friends. In any case nomater what you do have fun and try not to get killed too often. :)
