Play an illusionist-thief (or any other mage-thief) and gather XP by learning spell scrolls and opening locks/ disarming traps ... easy and low risc way to level up :)

I love bg2, you realized you double post?? Server hiccup or something? As for getting experience, just go around doing quests. Plus if you are that concerned about leveling up go get a walk thru.

Why would anyone flame you? It's where you should post...
As for early XP... Once you get to act 2, start doing the quests in Athkatla. Most of them are pretty easy and bring lots of XP. And there are dozens of them.

    (I deleted the other post.)

Trademeet is good for a fair bit of both exp and gold, and a piece of cake TBH. You can get that lovely belt of innertial barrier afterwards too when the traders start up again.
