    hi folks.

    just wanted to know if it is possible to play BG + TOTSC without cds. i'm tired of switching and i know there was a way to do so in torment.

    (i tried to find a no-cd-key crack but the game is too outdated ... plz inform me if there is a more so-called legal way to ease this ...).

    I think if you do a full installation it really cuts down on changing the CD's, but I could be wrong - I've never done a full install.

    In baldur.ini, you can also set the location of the content of each CD. This can be useful if you did not do a full install originally and e.g. copied the content of CDs into your hard drive later.

    Full install is easily done - simple select custom when asked for what type of install and select all components. No more CD swapping.

    Its easy but he needs to reinstall the entire game then.
    No it wouldn't. The initial CD check uses the path defined in baldur.ini.
    In fact, you can make the game seach the specific CDs in more than one location!
    Here is a part of my baldur.ini, this is the place where you can change CD settings after the game has been installed.

    [Alias]
    HD0:=D:bad:BG\
    CD1:=G:bad:CD1\;H:bad:CD1\
    CD2:=G:bad:CD2\;H:bad:CD2\
    CD3:=G:bad:CD3\;H:bad:CD3\
    CD4:=G:bad:CD4\;H:bad:CD4\
    CD5:=G:bad:CD5\;H:bad:CD5\
    CD6:=G:bad:CD6\;H:bad:CD6\

    So my Baldur's Gate will check the content of each CD in two places, in drive G: and H:

    Or just perform a full install, then download a no-CD crack from somewhere.
    Quite easy actually :)

    [IMG] We don't allow discussions on no-CD cracks here, so no more of that, please.

    [IMG] After a full install you only need one CD to startup the game. BUT that is my experience from BG2 only - because I, most luckily, have the BG1 DVD! :p

    [IMG] but what if you get the CD aliases to refer to the hard drive that contains the installation?

    That would be no matter at all, those are totally independent of each other.
    You can refer to any path if the complete content of the specific CD is there.

    For example, if you copy the content of CD2 to C:bad:CDS\GAMES\CRPG\BEST\BG\CD2, and refer to this path in baldur.ini, it will work!

    I did a full install and played BG1 with only the TotSC CD and never had to switch.
