Is there any netbook or more or less organised source of information on the effects of various health conditions in d&d settings? Temporary ones that might be 'gained' during adventures, light ones that are caught randomly or ones that might even serve as character hindrance.

I'm not sure if any mundane type conditions are covered, but you can get information on disease from the DMG pgs 74-75. You could use some of the information on typical diseases to come up with your own mundane illnesses and their effects.

Another location for information is the section Condition Summary, also in the DMG pgs 83-85. This section lists the effects of many conditions that could result from any of the varied diseases, spells etc. You could use this section to decide what effects the illness has and then use the summary to determine the effects.

For example, a character that is nauseated can't make attacks, cast spells, or do anything that requires attention. Moving is the only action they can perform. You could determine that the illness puts the character in a state of being staggered which would allow them to only perform a partial action each round. I would use this information and come with your own illnesses. I’m sure you can remember being sick. Use how it made you feel to determine the effects you desire.
