I just created my character for the D&D group and are now creating some more details.

I am blond so i thought it would be cool to have a blond elve. I know that almost all elves have black hair. I am a little bit a Tolkien addict and in the Silmarillion there are also Blond Elves (the Vanyar) Most of the Vanyar stayed in Valinor near the throne of Manwe but some of them followed the Noldor and the Teleri-elves that went to Middle Earth. So there where blond elves but hey where very rare I suppose. Are there also blond elves in Fearun? When the asnwer is yes, is there a place in Fearun where Blond Elves are less rare?

It would seem so that gold elves are blond as a rule.

Go to Evermeet (Island of the elves) 50% of the population are Sun Elves (or Gold Elves, its the same) who are all lightly tanned and have blond hair.

Another large gold elf settlement is Evereska, situated in the Greyloak hills some weeks' ride east of Waterdeep.
But really, gold elves aren't that uncommon, I'd say at least 20% of all elves are of the golden variety. Your elf could easily hail from Waterdeep or Silverymoon, two of the larger and more well-known cities of the north.

[IMG] I'm also a Tolkien fan and feel this discription of Elves is more accurate than that in the PHB. Elves in Middle Earth are tail and fair. The discription in the PHB is a bit more in line with the classical 'elf' discription. The PHB says they are shorter than humans and dark of hair. This one of the area where I defer to the Tolkien view. I know the PHB can't copy Tolkien exactly or they'll get sued but that doesn't blind our imagery.

The description of elves in the PHB doesn't suit my tastes. Too short and all. The description in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting is more detailed and more like the kind of elf I picture.

I also have that boko so I'll check that out. Darien also provided me much information. Well, we just started the campaign and I know we are in Forgotten Realms but we haven't found out where exactly, due to some magic or somethings else, we can't remember anything at the moment...
