"Error Reporting" doesn't work for me.

    If a program doesn't function, usually I'm given an option to report the problem. When I try to do this now, that program freezes on me as well.

    I don't completely believe that it's a waste of time, or that MS doesn't care.

    The errors get put into some huge log, which is probably checked periodically. If something fails a lot more than it should, one of two things might happen:

    1) If it's a MS product, it'll probably be improved.
    2) If it's not a MS product, it'll probably be duplicated by MS so they can make more money.
