No poll. If you are European, what other European country is usually disliked in your country or does your country have a specific quarrel with another European country ? On second thought, countries from the pacific can join in too.

Me, as Swiss, see my neighbours this way. Austria, does it really exist ? France, doesn't matter. Itay, Lombardy and the rest of the north are scary sometimes, yet the South is ok. The Germans, that's another issue. There is a love/hate relationship to them since nearly ever. Best summed up in "Kuhschweizer" and "Sauschwaben". (cowswiss/pigswabians). We feel in many ways inferior to them, particularly when they open their North-German mouths and speak like waterfalls whereas they force us to studder in their own language. Lately, we have huge problems with them, and they can't be bothered to even notice. So, insulting Germans is the hip thing to do, again. Ok, it maybe has never ceased, there is a long traditional arsenal of insults we can fall back on.

This is also interesting in political matters, as all EU-related questions end up with one party cashing in on the at the stomach aimed argumentation, no foreign governor, and surely no German. Depicting the scenery of old mythology. Not to say that the most famous part of our mythology was made to a classic of German literature by a German. Isn't that a slap in the face, is it ?

[IMG] I'm very uncomfortable with this thread. It amounts to an invitation to discuss what you don't like about an entire nation, often all of its people included. This in turn is a recipe for making negative generalizations about entire ethnic groups or cultures, which violate the AoDA rules. In fact, I caught at least one in the above post. Before the damage is done ( and I'm certain it will be if I leave this open ) ...
