    I think one of the main reasons the scary bits are so effective (on anyone who isn't a Silent Hill die-hard, at least) is that you're fully capable of tearing up Replica soldiers like paper, but you can't do a damn thing against that little girl. It's not like Silent Hill, where running away becomes a way of life. You're so used to going up against shootable foes it scares the hell out of you that you can't do anything against the hallucinatory horrors you're exposed to throughout the game.

    I must be doing something wrong because I can't kill Alma, you get just the pistol and I shot her about 20 bullets but she keeps killing me.

    heh...I think I may have to go get this...I played the demo way back when I still had my 6600gt....it looked amazing then...I wonder what it would look like with my new rig =/ btw..teekc what are your system specs?

    On the subject of scary FPS games, can I make a recommendation for Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth? It gets a bit action-gamey later on, but the first few parts of the game have some truly scary moments, and the latter stages still have quite a few of them.

    I've been playing FEAR Combat, which is a free download. It's multi-player PVP only. You don't get the single-player campaign.

    I also tried the demo of the new FEAR game and it was just too dang scary. No way am I buying it! :eek:
