Well for fantasy football fans (American football, that is), this week is championship weekend in virtually all leagues. Most leagues have the next to last week of the regular season be the last week for fantasy football, because during the last week of the season a lot of teams will rest their starters prior to the playoffs (unless, of course, they need to win in order to make the playoffs).

My team (which, unsurprisingly, is named the "Foppish Idiots") is in the championship game for the 5th time in 7 years. That initially sounds good, but I'm like the Buffalo Bills or Atlanta Braves of my fantasy football league, losing in the championship game in the previous 4 appearances. However, this is the first year where I have appropiately named my team. I've gone with more obscure references in the past - two I recall offhand are the Spanish Inquisition and the Krakatoa Explosion. Perhaps most importantly, this is the first year where I'm actually favored to win.

Any other FF fanatics out there in their league championship game?

I suffered a new low this year. In my two main leagues I missed the playoffs by one slot. I then proceeded to score a record amount of points in both leagues and would have won the playoffs in both.

Well, I finally ended my streak of futility - two weeks ago actually - and I ended up winning my league!
