In one of the NWVault forums, I came across a few people that argued that anime/manga and D&D have an either-or relationship - you couldn't like both. Now, as someone who likes the two of them almost equally, I'd like to know if there are more people like that out there. So, could you list some of your favourite movies, series or comics? AMVs are also appreciated
Some of mine: Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin, Berserk, Excel Saga, Hellsing
Best AMV: hmm, hard choice - all clips based on RK OVA are incredible, but so are Love Hina - Come out and play (Offspring) and Hellsing - Jesus Says (Ash)

Err.... I am not that much of an anime fan (Mostly thanks to crammy availability) but I think that I could safely say that my two favorites are Inu Yasha and Last Exile :)

    *drools*

    Sesshoumaru... Alex... Dio... Luciora....

    Ah, yes, where was I?

I don't have that much experience with AMVs, but does thisfab one with final fantasies 7, 8 & 10 as well as Chrono Cross count? It was done to the Mambo No. 5 and man, did it rock!

I don't think there are "the best", but some "really good ones." These include...

    ...Green Green, marvelous humour.
...Inyasha, or the 25 first episodes at least. Then it gets stale. AFAIK, the manga should be a lot better.
...Love Hina, if you can ignore the poor ending. Read the manga too and I think the anime was better.
...Outlaw Star, if you can ignore plot anomalies and poor ending.
...Angel Sanctuary. It takes serious ignorance to forget that the author and his art quite gay, but for the plot I managed. Manga and anime were both really good.
...Interlude OVA. Made me think and truth to tell: they should make episode #4 just to clear things up. Sad anime in any case

And probably a few more that I can't bugger to write down. ;)

Fist of the North Star. Amazing, and my total favourite.

I read the Love Hina manga and saw the anime. I preferred the manga, although Tamago the flying turtle was superb in the anime :D

Currently watching through Inuyasha. I've reached episode 155, and am getting depressed it's almost over. It lapses into dullness a bit in the middle (35-55), but then picks up, and is fantabulous from about 85.

    - Rurouni Kenshin, the short movies, the series itself was too happy-happy, but the short movies rocked with the awesome sword-battles.
    - Cowboy Bebop, the music, it goes deep into the characters, except Ed, but she is too young for a deep personality.
    - Evangelion, good original story and Asuka can be cute as a bitch ;)
    - Trigun, the only anime with "idiot" humor I liked, the story was good too.

Probably Ninja Scroll, but Fist of the North Star is good.

Anime ~ Neon Genesis Evangelion, Serial Experiments Lain, Love Hina, The Prince of Tennis, Akira, Slam Dunk, Ghost in the Shell.

Manga ~ One Piece, Naruto, Love Hina, Slam Dunk, Dragon Ball, YuYu Hakusho, Kyo Samurai Deeper, GTO.

There are probably more that I really enjoy, but these are the ones I can recall off the top of my head.

Honourable Mentions (Anime): Gundam Seed, Ninja Scroll, most stuff from Studio Ghibli, Chrno Crusade, Rurouni Kenshin, Naruto.

Honourable Mentions (Manga): Cat's Eye, Rurouni Kenshin, Touch!, Dragon Quest.

@Morgoth: Asuka doesn't need to be as cute as a bitch, she's already one ;) . Rei on the other hand... :yum: no wait she's 14 uhh..

Trigun is my favorite, but I also like Inuyasha (if you tell anyone, I'll deny it), the various Gundams (08th MS Team was my fav), Dragon Ball Z, and for a while was strangely fascinated by Case Closed. What I've seen of Cowboy Bebop I liked, but I haven't seen enough to rwally say. Lupin the Third is usually pretty good. Really, most anything with giant robots will probably be at least decent. And that's about it.

Nonsense... I quite enjoy anime/manga, though obviously not the totally kiddie stuff. I don't get to see much of it though, as they're not showing any on our crappy TV channels (no sci-fi either). The last anime movie I saw was Spirited Away and I was, literally... a fantastic movie.
