There are some lines that should never be crossed. A teacher of any gender boinking a student of any gender is one of those lines. Severe penalties need to be imposed on teachers who pull this crap.

I am the "king of the double standard". If it is a male teacher it is clearly statutory rape and the teacher should face prosecution. If it is a female teacher I see no harm so therefore no foul. Nobody has every been able to convince me that a thirteen year old boy can possibly suffer any psychological harm from boinking a older female. Most teenage boys dream about the exact same scenario.

 

And you dont think that there are plenty of thirteen year old girls who do the same?

 

I'm sure they do. However according to society a girl's viriginity is more important than a boy's. In additon sexual reputation has more stigma for girls then boys. When a girl is thought of as a *****, that can't be good for her, when a boy is considered a man-***** all of his friends say it while laughing.

The censored word rhymes with chore. As an aside, I find it interesting that the censors don't like that word.

 

Shouldn't we try to counter that? Not to mention that although a young boy are supposed to feel that and some probably do there are plenty who would be severely damaged by it just like many girls.

 

Should we also try to change that men are naturally stronger then women or that women are naturally more nurturing then men?

 

I'm with Joacqin on this one, Girls can fantasise as much as boys. Plus, what's the fuss about virginity anyway? I know it's a big thing in the states but it's only sex!

 

Only we have to counter all of society first, before we can sway this.

Darion, every little bit helps. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to get rid of outdated, repressive and unfair standards.

though in the UK these days you are more likely to see girls out on the pull and bragging about sex then men.

I think the issue alot of the time isnt what the child wants, noone cares about that, their own moral positon comes into play, many people see a girls virginity as something precious which needs to be protected while a boy's is fair game, the kids however, all just want to have sex.

 

Screw the virginity factor, sex should be the union of two equals. A teacher, being in a position of authority, by definition is not in an equal position to a student. It's also terrible optics, and shows a lack of moral fibre on the part of the teacher. It is my understanding that at colleges and universities there are often staff codes of conduct that exist forbidding student/teacher sexual relations despite the legal fact that once a student is 18 there is no further consent issue in this scenario.

 

Of course, no one is questioning that or at least I don't. Snook might but that is up to him. The entire point of legislating things like this is that it should not be possible to take advantage of a people who do not know any better or abuse a position of power. A thirteen year old is out of bounds for anyone, man or female. What would you say Snook if it was "consensual" homosexual sex between the boy and a male teacher? Let's say the teacher blows the boy? Could anything convince you that he could suffer any harm from that?
