I am a Fighter/mage/thief, which my opinion is the best all round class, and i think i got a pretty good party aswell.

    Theres me- Fighter/mage/thief
    Coran- fighter/thief
    Jaheira- fighter/druid
    Khalid- Fighter
    Xan- enchanter
    quayle- cleric/illusionist.

i think this goes well with my character which gives me a total of:-
    4 fighters
    2 thieves
    2 healers
    3 mages

What do you guys think, and do you have any good parties that would go well with a F/M/T.

[IMG] Lots of dual-classes will not give you any high levels (and high level spells).

I rathe rplay with one pure fighter, one pure thief and one pure mage instead of many multi-classes...

I find that when you play BG1, it's better to go wth single class charaters. With the character you are playing, I would additionally play a Paladin, Ranger, Thief, Mage (Be care of specializing because some spells won't be available), and Cleric. If you go with a DC Fighter/Cleric that would work also. This is pretty much a general party though. Once again, it's all preference and playing style.

See, i plan to take this character, through the baldur's gate series, starting with baldur's gate 1 and finishing on throne of bhaal, and i think multiclasses are the way to go.

Thanks for the advice though i think i will start again as a fighter/mage, because, f/m/t just levels up way too slow, with a party of more specialist characters.

Also do you goys know of any quests that are easy to do at the beginning, that gives out alot of experience.

How about killing lots of nasty lizards? Much more XP than any quest early in the game, and quite easy too (at least with the aid of our ghoulish friend. )

Just go east of Beregost, and see what you can find.

I usually clean up all the areas before I do the Bandit Camp. That will give you some levelups (and lots of hit points which are very useful ;)).

Be carefulwith those Bassilisk.. it is not for none that they are worth much XP... use Korax the Ghoul as front fighter, he is immune to paralization.

Also try casting the second level mage spell "Protection from Petrification" on yourself, there are also numerous potions and scrolls which protect against this. Actually Basilisks are a joke with protection from their gaze attack, since they have no psyical attack which does damage. Just make sure to avoid that evil party on that map until you can bring your party to help.
