I'm currently fighting a mummy, who is immune to the +1 greatsword that I have weilded since the start of Chapter 1. I'm in Charwood now in need of a +2 greatsword and it just so happens no one in Port Llast can sell one. Is there a console command to create one?

Have you tried drinking a potion of Bless? It gives you an additional +1...

The +1 shouldn't be an enhancement bonus, it's a divine bonus, boosts attack and damage by +1... but not as magic weapons - I'll try it though, game mechanics might work diff. than the actual stuff.

Yea, doesn't work. If I remember right, there's a town to the north of port Llast? I can't remember, I'm worried about wasting time going up there to find nothin'.

Really? I could have sworn that worked for me before... Ah well, must've been mistaken.

In that case, bring up the console (the upper left key which is usually `) and type DebugMode 1, then bring up the console again and type dm_spawnitem nw_wswmgs011 which will create a Greatsword +2 wherever your cursor was, then bring up the console again and type DebugMode 0.

You can also buy a +2 Greatsword from Mutamin at the Green Griffon Inn north of Port Llast, if that helps. :)

Yes, the Green Griffon Inn... as soon as I went north and saw the sign, I ran like I've never ran before... Of course I had to undertake his challenge before I could afford it, but yea... that mummy is my ***** now ;) .

Instead of looking for a weapon with higher enchantment, try looking for a weapon with elemental damage. Elemental damage bypasses the damage reduction based on the enchantment of the weapon. Because of that it will serve you longer than the +2 weapon.

sure does, but i'd rather be doing 17-45(crit) damage instead of 1-6 damage... :)

Mummies are undead. Undead are critical immune.

If your chief concern is bypassing damage reduction, you just grab the most powerfully enchanted weapon you own. That's how it's supposed to work, I think. My paladin normally used a longsword and shield (Astral Blade +1, various tower shields) but then came elementals. So I grabbed the +3 spear, which was a two-handed weapon, so totally not my paladin's style, and whacked them as hard I could. When elementals were over, I switched back to my regular weapon and shield. Undead creatures are immune to criticals, so the two feats that matter are Weapon Focus and Weapon Specialisation. My paladin had neither in the whole OC IIRC. It just doesn't matter so much and being confined to one weapon is no fun. In 2E, this was different because your number of attacks per round depended on your weapon proficiency but not anymore in 3E. Besides, undead are resistant to slashing, so maybe keep one of the maces or flails you find. I tend to carry a backup blunt weapon around.

Thing is, I grow attached to the weapon style I choose, so if I play witha Greatsword, I don't want to use any other weapon type. Although I've occassionally used a sling.

That might have been true in the bg series, where elemental damage was weaker on weapons, but in NWN, the most powerful enchantment is lots of elemental damage, not a very big enhancement bonus. Besides, if you play a Monk that only uses his fists, you don't have much choice. Seeing as how you get the feats to bypass damage reduction way too late, your best bet is to wear gloves that do as much elemental damage as possible, preferably a not much resisted kind.

Your elemental damage is also multiplied on a critical. Besides, unlike bg, if a monster is damage resistant, it only is to a set amount of damage per hit, and so never is fully imune, even to weapons with a too low enchantment, so on a critical hit, there will still be regular damage going through. But like said before, undead (the most encountered damage reduction enemy) is immune to critical hits.

But I still do more damage despite damage reduc with power attack & a high magic enchant.

Elem damage does not match up when you're a 2handed fighter because strength damage is multiplied 1.5 and power attack is doubled. 1d6 compared to 7+10+2d6+misc - otherMisc doesn't match up. I do 15-20 damage to damage resistant enemies instead of 1d6.

Where do I find spawnitem information and a listing of NWN items? I've looked through the sorcerers place 2 cheat pages and there's no sign of spawnitem command.

[IMG] Check the Tips subsection for a few item listings; they should all have the console commands listed as well.

NWN uses 3.0 rules not 3.5 so I think that power attack is not doubled with a two handed weapon. One of the many 3.5 changes I really liked.

I get confused between 3.0 and 3.5 rules, I use them muttedly - IE: there is more than partial/total/no cover...
