[IMG] I’m working on a Paladin build for the OC’s of SoU-HotU (SP). I know I want some combination of Paladin/Champion of Torm, but I’m not too sure on the order or # of levels to take for these classes, and I need some polishing in the skill/feat arena as well. Also I was considering taking 4 Fighter levels for Weapon Spec Greatsword or Longsword.

    The stats I am thinking of are 15Str, 12Dex, 14Con, 12Wis, 10Int, 14Cha

Skills I know I’m taking Discipline and Persuade

Feats would be Power Attack, Cleave, Weapon Focus, Great Cleave, Weapon Spec (if 4 FTR), Improved Crit, not sure what else yet

Your stats look pretty good, but I would probably drop the dexterity down to 10 and throw those 2 points into Wisdom...it will help your weak Will saves and is necessary for spellcasting. All additional attribute points as you level up should go into either Strength or Charisma, and if you are taking higher levels of Paladin, you'll need Wisdom as high as 14 to access all the spells.

Four levels of Fighter is good, but I would suggest taking 5 levels somewhere between level 2 and level 20...then at level 21 take your 6th level of Fighter and pick up Epic weapon Focus and Epic Weapon Spec...all at the same time ;) .

Unless you keep Fighter and Paladin levels within one level of each other, you will get an experience point penalty with any race other than Human, Half-elf or Dwarf.

It seems to me that many of the Paladin / COT abilities are a bit redundant...you might consider a Cleric / Fighter / COT for your "Holy Warrior" character.

You will be thin on class skills, as well as skill points...keep Discipline maxed for your entire career, take persuade on Paladin levels, throw a few into heal...you won't have much left after that. You might consider putting some skill points into non-class skills like tumble (+1 AC for every 5 levels) or spellcraft (+1 saves against magic every 5 levels)

Looks like your feat selection is good...you might want to take Improved Power Attack, Iron Will and Lightning Reflexes.

As far as order of levels...if you really want to be a "Paladin"...take that class first...the game will refer to you as that character for the rest of your career. After first level of Paladin, it doesn't much matter what you do, but I would go with 5 levels of Fighter to take advantage of the extra feats...make sure you take Weapon Focus and Specialization...then one more level of Paladin which will give you a BAB of 7 so you can go COT at the next level up...from there on alternate between Paladin and COT.

That's my take on it...good luck.
