[IMG] As a chronic restarter of all games, it's great to finally have finished one I rank by the very best I've ever played or even heard about.

My characters had very powerful equipment and were all at almost 6 million exp. The last time I got to the last fight, they were severly undergeared (not even FoA +3, much less Carsomyr or other interesting stuff) and on 3,5 million, and I was less skilled. Even with a very strong party (most of the game was haste + autoattack, or not even haste), the final battle was very hard for the first attempts, then acceptable later. Hard, but well balanced and a fitting end to the saga.

I can finally start using mods, and first in will be IA, once I get my party through bg1+totsc. I hope I can finish IA at least once, and get the time to replay Planescape: Torment, which is also one of the very best games. Go look it up if you haven't already :) The only sad part about this is that I can't ever imagine any new game reaching close to the old IE games in quality. Any suggestions would be appreciated <3 And now for strawberries and icecream.

    Congratulations on finishing ToB!

Yes, you should try the IA, it is one of the most exciting mods out there, and gives BG2 a very new breath!

You know, I have the same goal, I also have a BG1+ToTSC game right now, and after that I will go on to BG2 with IA! :)

Will you use Easy TuTu? Oh you should, for there are some very interesting mods for TuTu.

    Namely:

Sword Coast Strategems (SCS) this mod really gives the enemies a boost in power and a very decent AI. This is a must to have, it will prepare you for IA battles very well, trust me! :shake:

NPC banter mod also adds up tons of very in-character and deep banters-dialogues for all BG1 NPCs, which they lack in vanilla BG1. With this mod they become as realistic and memorable as BG2 NPCs. :thumb: Plus the mod also offers romances for BG1 NPCs though I did not try them so I can not say anything. :hmm:

Grey Clan Episode 1:In Candlelight:This is one of the major must-have mods of BG1, very well implemented, has a very interesting story, great quests/dialogues/decent rewards and the most challenging and fun fights ahead! Has also BG1 only versions, and lite versions for those who do prefer easier battles. This is a top quality mod every BG fan should have! :thumb:

You must try these mods in your BG1 game, I have them and am having a great time!

As for BG2 there are some other mods you may want to have, besides IA. Tower of Deception, for example, this mod really has some promise, I haven't tried it yet but it sounds to be fun! I can't wait to try it in my next BG2 game!

Just be sure that IA is the very last mod you install for BG2, Sikret says this so many times so I will keep repeating too! :hahaerr:

Can you beat BG1+ToTSC before me? I am in Durlag's Tower (SCS also modifies these battles so I am very excited) and then I will go after Sarevok, I think. However I am very busy with finals and all so I won't be able to play for a few weeks ahead, you can easily catch up with me!

PST is an excellent game, but alas, I am stuck at it as one of my CDs is broken, I think. I will have to borrow from my friend again this summer.

Also, there are IWD and IWD2s, they are also great IE games all around. IWD2 also has many new mods, Tal Rasha's Tactics and Crucis's Selune mods make it hot again.

    See you around!

Have fun with IA! I'll be starting my first IA run soon too. I've been wanting to play IA forever but I have just finally figured out how to get my slowdown problems under control (which wasn't caused by IA but rather by heat probs with my crappy old computer).

It's a highly difficult mod, but it has also clearly blown all the other difficulty/AI enhancing mods out of the water in terms of quality. So when you get frustrated with some of the most difficult battles just remember you're not in that boat alone! The experts on the improved anvil forum are also extremely helpful.

...and it's constantly extended and refined, with each new minor and major version number! :) Contrary to the (common?) misbelief, it doesn't become harder with each release. Perhaps such a tendency could be observed by some players in the beginning (probably just due to the increasing quantity of tactical improvements), but it isn't generally true. (For example, certain resistances are slightly toned down in the upcoming v4.3.)
