Can you create a formation where summoned monsters will walk in front?

Firstly, you can not create a formation you can only choose from the one available. And no you can't choose a formation for summoned creatures, the formations affect only the party.

:( I was afraid that I already knew the answer to my question. Boo-hooo and how I hate having to advance the pack manually ahead of the party.

Do not start to worry yet, Kull!

I am afraid that Sirdan is not entirely correct.

First of all, the position of the summoned creatures depend on the number of characters in your party. There are two main possibilities:
    a) 6 chars
    b) less than 6 chars.

The formations I have just tested had 6 chars and 5 skeletons and after that I have reduced the number of each and looked what happened.

    a) whaen you have 6 chars in the party the position of summoned creatures in the formation is not fixed!. If before a battle you put your creatures in a certain spot (for you to find out ;) ) and then press '=' and walk in formation mode (right-click) you can make the summoned creatures walk up front. The most favorable formations for that matter are (if numbered from 1 to 12) the formations 4, 11, 12.

    b) it is much simpler if the number of chars and summoned creatures is not greater than 6. For ex. you have 3 chars and 3 summoned creatures or 1 mage and 5 summons. In that case summoned creatures take the appropriate spots in the formations, and there are exactly 3 formations (4,6,9) where your party will not be walking up front (the white circle in the formation icon represents the leader of the party).

In brief, it IS possible to make the summons walk up front, and it is easier to do with less people in the party.

    Try it out yourself!
