I have spent the last 2 hours trying to fix a mouse problem with this new game. Not only does the mouse blink and jump around the screen when I bring up NWN, but lost total control of it with my entire system. Then I get on the phone with Infogrames--automated line and go round and round, getting nowhere. (I have a brand new Athlon 1200 MHz system that has handled all the other games with no problems.) Grrrrr.... Sooo, I'm hosed----can't run the game until I figure out what the hell is going on. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Try with this:
    Open NWN.INI and change setting hardwaremouse = 1 to hardwaremouse = 0.

Changed the ini file to hardwaremouse=0, and it seemed better for the first screen, but when I went in to set up my character, the blinking mouse returned. I did finally get through to InfoGrames and they were extremely helpful....but we couldn't fix the problem. It looks as though I have to upgrade my video card. This is all so very disappointing. To have a taste......

[IMG] What kind of graphic card do you have? Did you try changing the mouse with another one if you have any handy?

Video card is an S3 Savage 4 2D/3D with 8 16 or 32m of memory---I do have 256MB of RAM. Also...I've got an AGP slot for a new card, if need be. I thought about getting a GForce 2 32MB....or something that's compatable with OpenGL2. I don't have any other mouse other than the Logitech PS/2 Wheel Mouse. I've downloaded the new drivers and installed DirectX 8.1. And...I've done a scan disk/defrag and removed all temp files. I don't know what else to do. I'm running with Windows ME, but I do have a copy of XP that I can upgrade to if necessary. Long and short...is buying the card the answer and will the GForce2 work or do I need to get a TNT card?

I ended up getting a G4 MX 420 64mb card. Didn't want to take any chances. Solved the flickering mouse problem in a flash. But... then I lost all sound. After exhausting all possibilities, my last ditch effort was to reinstall NWN. Worked like a charm.
