Game Freezes on Prologue Screen

    I am running windows XP pro SP2. I have update drivers. Game installs fine no problems, but it freezes on the Prologue screen. I have the IWDpatch106 installed also. Have also turned off my hardware sound acceleration in DirectX 9c. Have played and finished game before on different PC and loved it just wanted to play it again. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks for your help

    No HOW is not installed just IWD and the lastest patch IWDpatch106. Nothing else.
