[IMG] Does anyone know if there is a way to run NWN in window mode so I can minimize if necessary? I hate to have to save everytime I need to do something else on the PC. I have checked the game and video options.

    Thanx

It can be done, but I think there is a .ini file setting that needs to be changed to make it work. That said, the game was not designed to be run this way and it could cause problems. I know I have had it crash/lock up when alt-tabbing.

I don't remember the .ini change that needs to be made, but you should be able to find it with a search on Bioware's website.

no alt-tab works fine, or else the windows button (if your keyboard has one) works well to.
Although sometimes when you re-enter the game, you can't do anything, left click the mouse and cycle true all programs with alt-tab until you hit nwn again, I don't know why, but that is how it works. but with that said, alt-tab should work fine.

Well, actually, alt-tabbing is worse than running the game in windowed mode in my experience.

To use windowed mode, go to the nwn folder and locate nwn.ini and open that (in some texteditor like notepad). Go under Display Options and add the line "AllowWindowedMode=1" without the quotes. If there is a line "AllowWindowedMode=0", remove it. With this option set, you can switch in game between fullscreen and windowed mode by hitting alt+enter.

Now you also are best to configure whether you want nwn to start in fullscreen always or in windowed mode. To do so just add under the previous mentioned line "FullScreen=X" and replace the X with 1 if you want it starting in fullscreen and 0 if you want it to always start in windowed mode.
