I was in the arcades on saturday and came across a fairly old game called Gauntlet Legends. Basically a 4 player, 3D rpg where you can be a fighter, a mage or a couple of other classes.

I've had a search to see what platforms this game was available for and did'nt have a great amount of joy. Also, checked whether it is available for MAME and still no luck.

Anyone know anything about this game (platform, availability for MAME or any other emulator, etc) coz i'd really like to get it.

Appologies in advance if this type of query isn't allowed but as far as i'm aware, it doesn't come under Warez.

Gauntlet Legends is one of the best console games I've ever played. I know that it is available for the Nintendo 64 and the Playstation, but I'm not aware of anything else. The game is great, the gameplay is awesome, and the graphics (for the time) are sweet. Buy the real game. It's worth it.

As well as you shouldn't. Gauntlet Legends has nothing to do with the legendary Gauntlet that I used to play on 8-bit consoles. It's ugly, has a horrible soundtrack, terrible soundeffects, incredible amount of useless hacking, a plot that sucks and dialogues that couldn't be worse.

Honestly, the game is a boring useless waste of time. Lucky I payed only 3-5€ for it when I was in Sweden.

You guys don't like it? Wow, I mean, I got my Tigress up to level 99, and I was sad that she couldn't get any better! I'll admit that it is very different than the original Gauntlet, which I have for the NES, but still, it's great!

I used to play Gauntlet for hours when I was wee, so when I saw a review for Gauntlet Legends in a magazine, i was naturally excited. But like Aikanaro said, the review was pathetic so I also didn't buy it. Instead, I've gone back to the original and had ace fun

agreed, the originals were classics, but i played them last night and they didnt cut it with me.

You say an pointless amount of hack and slash from gauntlet legends, well i have to say the very same about the originals. The only way to get through some of the areas was to barge your way through the enemies, losing health to them as you did so.

I only played legends for about 10 minutes but what i saw, i really enjoyed.

Precisely my mistake there, IoTD. I absolutely loved it when I first saw it, and tried it some. My interest wore off after around 1 hour though. Even though I tried it with my friends.

Sure, the first ones were hack'n slash as well, but at least they didn't feel pointless. And at least they had a far better soundtrack.

I remember hearing that you could play a chicken, and a censored/uncensored nude Valkyrie, but this probably didn't have any use at all, so whoever can delete this post, do it.
