The game went gold, and there was a chat on Gamespy friday... Tim Cain said it was up to Atari to give release date, but that Troika was done! It is going to be intersting to see how this turns out. He mentioned no one had finished the game in the Iron Man mode as of yet, which I don't know if I believe, but shows how challenging it will be...

 

Man, I gotta get a job quickly so I can buy this game!

 

I'm keeping my fingers crossed so hard hoping this will turn out to be a great game and that the European release dates (early Oct) will be kept.

Okay maybe I'm a complete goon, but does "Gold" mean that the game has sold 100,000 copies in presale (like in the music industry), or does it mean it's finished and ready to ship?

Gold mean that the games is finish and is going over to be duplicated on Cd and put on a box. At the realese day it's shiped to store, being purchased by fan, the box opened by the fan and so on until we discuss here at SP for gazilion of random babling about it, and after 1-2 years we'll make post about ¨hey didn't you remember this place were you... ¨ or ¨What's the best tactic to kill X¨ and when TOEE 2 will be realesed this forum will be forgotten and no one but old fan of it remembered when we have waited for it and we are still babling over it like ¨Man, with TOEE we had so much founded memories ¨
or ¨TOEE's time were the day¨ and so on...

I really hope that ToEE will be so good game, that it gets many fans.

About European release date... early October sounds too oplimistic. I'm happy if I get that game in my hands before December (remember last year and waiting of IWD2?)

 

From my experience delayed european release dates can be caused by for example the following:

1. After the US release it turns out that the game is not fun. Sims Online would be a good example here.

2. The European distributor is no good.
For example Virgin - who screwed up royally with the release of IWD2.
IIRC some french company were responsible for NWN in Europe and that didn't go too good either, but I don't quite remember if that was the case.

You are right, it would be fun if it is a great game that people are talking about and sharing, etc. What is the deal witht he release date in US? Is it set? What is going on? I want the durn game!!! Anyone know the up to date info here? I have read numerous interviews, but what is the date as of 9-11-03?

I'm pretty psyched about this game. I just finished watching the game play walkthrough movie moments ago, and I'm even more psyched. The movie is pretty grainy, (snagged it from fileplanet, but I think Gamespot might have a cleaner version if you want to pay) but still looks cool. Movement and combat look really fluid...smooth, just like butter baby. And slimes look awesome!

Can't wait and oh yeah, did I mention I'm psyched

IwD2 was a debacle. For all parties involved.

Other than that, I didn't realize ToEE was comming out this fast. Boy, time has just flown by. I guess it's time for me to check into it.
