Gun control and the consitution

    Guns don't kill people, the people that shoot the guns do. I have no problem with a responsible adult owning a gun. I wouldn't own one myself. My problem is with how I interpret the constitution and how people use that to say they have a right to own a gun.
    The constitution was written over two hundred years ago. When it was written the "Right to bear arms" was meant as permission for the states to form there own militia.
    " A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." That is the exact words.
    What are your thoughts? Does anyone agree with me? Disagree with me?

    I think the NRA has money to convince everyone about what they say is the true meaning. And secondly I think Americans can shoot themselves as much as they want till majority decides not to with a gun ban.

    This has been discussed a bit before. I disagree with you characterization of the original intent of the Second Amendment, I think it is a debatable subject as there is lots of evidence it was conceived as an individual right.
