having problems

    [​IMG] ok i have had this game for some time now but my old system just couldnt push it...i know that me new system can. i installed it and began playing and everything was going cool it loads fast and everything is smooth. well then i try and hide in shadows with my theif and sometimes he just doesnt do it. not that it says i failed it just doesnt even try. well i was like ok i can live with that and i kept playing just hitting the hide botton alot until it worked. then i finally got hit. well i used my cleric to heal him and as soon as i do that the game freezes. i can do everything go to the maps invintory and all that and even go to my last save but my chars just get stuck with that halo of magic above his head. i tried this oven and over i tried in many differnt places and everything i could think of all to no avail. can someone plz give me some advice

    Obit - I haven't experienced the freezing problem, so I'm not sure why that's happening. You may want to download the IWD patch just in case. Just do a search on this board for "patch" and you should find it...If not, let me know and I can email it to you.

    As for the hiding in shadows...In IWD, you actually have to go into a shadow to hide. If you do it in the light or out in the open, your thief won't "hide." Hope this helps.

    The "hide in shadows" skill in IWD is a little strange. It seems like the game has specific times where it makes the check to see if you succeed, and that time doesn't seem to start when you hit the button. So, after you hit the "hide in shadows" button, it can be a few seconds before the attempt to hide is made; just be patient.

    well i figured out how to make it work even if it isnt fixed. so i am going to post it incase anyone else ever has this problem. as for the hide in shadows it is like he said you have to be in a shadow to hide but not all the places that look to you to have shadows really do you have to move around to find it. as for the freezing up everytime i cast heal i have to pause the game and unpause it twice and it comes right out of it. i have no idea why this works and it may not work for others with same problem but that is what cures it for me. thanx for the promt replies cat. and i just got going on the game so i am sure you will be hearing from me again before this is over.

    I used to push the button, then walk around a bit. Hide in shadows was successfull then.
