    Gamesmania: How much did fan feedback play into Heart of Winter design decisions? What was the thing you worked on most?

    Darren Monahan: Heart of Winter included a lot of fan feedback, particularly relating to the balances of each of the classes in the original game. Druids, bards and paladins were seen by some to be less useful, so we focused on giving each of the sub-classes some overhauling. Druids got more spells and creature forms to assume, paladins gained new special abilities and a new spell progression table. Rangers gained tracking and a new spell progression table, and thieves were given several new skills, some based on feats from the new Dungeons & Dragons rules. From a programming standpoint, we spent a lot of time bringing over a lot of the cool things the guys at Bioware did for BG2, and the designers worked on rounding out the classes and coming up with new content.
