How is exactly the partial, move-equilent, standard, full-round(Ok, I pretty much understand this one) and all the other actions in a round work? I have read thrue the sections of the PHB that deal with this but I the only explenations I got was that you can do as many partial actions as standard actions, minus one move, and that means squat to me.

If I understand it right in one round you can make two partial actions, which are move like actions; one standard action and one partial action, so move and attack like thing; or one full action.
I guess a different way of explaining it would be to say that a partial action takes up 45% of your round, a standard takes 55% and a full takes 100%. *shrugs*
    Hope that helped some how.

In 3E, a combat round basically consists of any of these:

    1. Standard action + move-equivalent action. If you do not move, you may take a 5-foot step.

Example: You pick up a sword (move-eq action), and you make an attack roll with it (standard action), and then you step back 5 feet.

    2. 2 move-eq actions. if you do not move, you may take a 5-foot step.

Example: you stand up from being prone (move-eq), you pick up a sword (move-eq), then step back 5 feet.

Example: you move twice your base speed (2 move-eq actions)

    3. 1 full-round action. If you do not move, you may take a 5-foot step.

Example: you step forward 5 feet and make the full attack action (only good if you have a BAB of +6 or higher, or have flurry of blows or Rapid Shot).

Example: you step backwards 5 feet (to avoid an Attack of Opportunity) and cast a full-round spell (the spell goes into effect exactly one round later).

A partial action is basically 1 or 2 minus one move-equivalent action. Thus, when you are magically slowed or in the surprise round, for example, you can't move your base speed and attack; you can do either, but not both (although a partial charge may be possible).

Rotku: you're confusing a partial action with a move-equivalent action. You can't take two partial actions in a single round (unless you're under a magical effect or something).

THanks, now I can use the regular combat rules instead of the stupid ones I have made up that makes no sence.
