    Hey guys, I'm supposed to write a paper on the trade of the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. I've been searching but I just can't find any sites that give me important information on them, stuff like their major exports, relative strengths and bilateral and multilateral negotiations with other countries... :sosad:

    Would any of you happen to know of any sites that could help me out along these lines? I'm using the common definition of the Middle East which is comprised of Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Turkey, Iran (Persia), Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and I'm including Morocco as well.

    Any help would be GREATLY appreciated guys. It's due on Wedensday and I've already got my ass in a sling because my previous draft failed miserably :(

    Wold Factbook

    develop by CIA. It has all the basic information about a country. At the bottom of each country profile, there is a international dispute description. There is only a list of organization that a country joins, if also you can spend sometime figure out what is all the short forms mean.

    north africa
    middle east

    Wikipedia. Some might say wiki is unreliable and subjective since anyone can contribute to it. So you would want to read them carefully. A more useful ..... use of wiki is its external link that takes you to more specific, authoritave sites.

    @Dalveen

    Yeah, but in the case of oil, I can't really say that much except that it's a given that their relative strength is the export of oil.

    @teekc

    Yeah, I already used wikipedia when doing the review of literature part on the historical aspect of trade in the region. Thanks for the link to the CIA factbook though, I may be able to use some of the stuff there. It doesn't have anything regarding country positions on trade though..

    I don't suppose either of you would know of a site that lists all of a country's trade agreements with other countries, both bilateral and multilateral?

    Perhaps try guessing what kind of phrases they would be using in the kind of article you want? Or a more specialised google search? Embassy sites? WTO maybe? The World Bank?

    How about an encyclopedia? They usually have the major info on all the nations they cover. Major resources, imports, exports, political parties, currenty, etc.

    @Cesard

    Thanks, I'll try using it tomorrow and see if I find anything.

    @Chev

    I've tried the WTO and the World Bank sites, I'm fairly sure that it's there but their search engine isn't very discriminating and it's pretty difficult to tell what's useful from what isn't.. As for google and stuff, most of the hits usually turn out pretty useless or outdated..

    @NOG

    Would you happen to know of any online encyclopedia that I could use for free?
