She can go a lot of different ways.

I think most people slap a STR belt on her, and the best armor possible. After that, there's a lot of ways to go:

Do you go for a spear? Staff? Club & Shield? Dual Wielding (Belm is an awesome off-hand weapon and she can use it).

I'd love to hear some ideas.

yeh, one of giant strength belts, something like the Armor of Hart when i get it.

then its either dual wield scimitars, or scimitar and shield.

The club you can buy in Trademeet, with Belm in the off does me well into ToB for Jaheira.

i prefer to use shield and scimitar, that makes her a powerful tank and able to cast spells in the middle of a fight uninterrupted is a huge bonus (iron skins + high AC)

as for spears and dualwield, it probably works just fine, but i find her THAC0 a bit meh'ish and doesn't really make her a 1st grade fighter - second line, no more
(although that ixil's spike +6 is tempting nevertheless, but you have to wait WAY too long to get it)

+ later on she can use whilrlwind attack anyway, that's some really GOOD offense

Best armor and weapon+shield. As for the weapon it varies a lot from game-to-game depending on my party but usually just give her the strongest weapon I have that she can use.

Staff of Ram. Is the best weapon for her.
Spectral Brand if you want her with Scimitars.
Her Harper Pin is a must. Red Dragon Armor once you get it is a good addition. Add a belt of some giant and she's the best tank around.

Hmm, I'm loving her with the Impaler, I'm just that kinky. I'll swap to Ixil's spike when the time is right if needed, but with GWW Impaler can give +100 extra piercing damage.

But yeah, Staff of the Ram actually gives more...Right? Maybe that'll be it when it's finally available...

Also, because of her being a druid she benefits from getting equipment that gives her immunities against fire and electricity. Iron skins protect her from immediate physical damage and being 100 or over element-proof protects and heals...

Fortress Shield and Belm during SoA.

Darksteel Shield and Spectral Brand during ToB.

She'll pull out the Staff of the Ram just for the Ascension version of Melissan.

What can I say? She rocks. ;)

Unless your character is a ranger/cleric. In that case she's redundant.;)

First Blackblood+shield, later Withering or Impaler and Ixil in ToB.

    Very carefully....

Belm or Blackblood, then Impaler, then Ixil's Spike.

She's one of the first to get a strength modification. I also always keep an ironskins up.

I've never understood the Belm and shield combo - Belm is not +3. Therfore like all other weapons of less than +3 enchantment, Belm is simply loot - unless you happen to like dual wielding, and want to give a genuinely worthy weapon an extra attack.

"Excuse me mr. vampire, while I pause the game, go into my backpack, stow this scimitar, and fetch out a weapon that can hurt you." Bah.

True, but against 90% of the enemies in the game an extra whack each round will do more damage than an additional +1.

I always give her the best armor and shield available. I use Jaheira more defensively than offensively, she is the ultimate tank and the toughest member to kill in my parties, usually she distracts tough enemies and delays them. She has good HP, with protection spells and Harper Pin, good resistances, she easily reaches negative AC numbers, add her Iron Skins, summoning and healing abilities and she is tough, tough, tough!

hrm, do you guys cheat the proficiency points on jaheira or what? i can't really see her being that great in 2w combat since she has * on scimitar and nothing in 2w, and her progression in proficiencies is SLOW, she has like 2* to spend in SOA and * extra in TOB

similar for spears, nothing in them intitially, and you need 4* for maximum performance (2* in spear and 2* in 2h combat style)

Who says you have to use her with dual wielding from the start? But you can plan her to be a dual-wielder. Along with Sarevok she's the best tank in ToB.

STR belt can compensate for THAC0 deficiencies until 2w proficiencies improve.

I either go Gnasher+Belm(or shield), or...

Pure quarterstaff and 2-handed proficiencies ( <- this setup requires rearranging starting proficiencies)

Gnasher+Belm is my optimal setup (just keep a +3 on hand for the few occasions one is needed), but I like quarterstaff for a change of pace and the opportunity to use the cool druid staves that otherwise go to waste. If you plan to get to Chapter 4 ASAP quickly then spear is a great, and very effective choice also (use the Impaler), just not as good a caster-killer as Gnasher+Belm.

I kind of go the Silverstar way - kit her out to the eyeballs in any AC improving gear I can find and keep the ironskins up. The idea is to make her nigh untouchable and use her as a front line fighter/spellcaster. For weapons I tend to switch between dual scimitars to mince through lesser foes and a shield/scimitar combo for tougher enemies where preservation is the key.

I tend to make her as tough as I possibly can (unless my PC is also a warrior class) and give her either a staff or spear. Always meant to have her with shield and scimitar/club through the game but never get around to it. Next time!
