how long have all of you been here?

i've been here 8 months as a forum member, but i've been around even longer.

i remember the old layout of the site, that non moving "parchment" menu bar that has now been replaced with silver buttons, and that section that taluntain took out that used to have a bunch of short stories and legends about various fantasy characters. the days when we only dreamed of being on the top ten D&D sites, the days when there were only 194 members, and taluntain had up a picture of himself, instead of that powerful blond-haired man who now graces the site's main page, the days when agron, holligan and i declared the suckiness of imoen and garrick, and when wingfoot and i had first become friends, ah those were great times, great times...

Feeling a bit nostalgic Egg? ;)
Can't say I blame you. It makes me feel good looking back and seeing how far we have come since the humble beginnings.

about three weeks - therefore I shouldn't really be annoying you all my posts. and am too new to understand half the stuff you veterans go on about.
I joined while desperately looking for help with why Edwin couldn't translate the Nether Scroll.

I have a vage memory of the old site. But as Tal has said things have come a long way. I starting coming by to read up on IWD back in May of 2000. Even before Tal added these boards. In all I have to say it's a great site. Every time a start looking for some CRPG related I use to go all over the place to find it, but now it's all right here.

And yes I agree Egg has chilled out a lot.

Ahh, the long arguements between me and Gunthar about Xan, the proverbial Ass -whooping received by Wizardry_IV at the hands of everyone, the long nights spent discussing 'Bards' - (My first post! Does anyone remember that! Whoo!)

Can't even remember when that was..... Oh wait it was in August. I stopped posting about three months ago, when I stopped playing BG2. Then I Looked up at my good old friend sitting there like it was just yesterday that we were hacking our way through Faerun. So I reinstalled and remembered my old friends here and came to say hello and I relised how much I missed.
Not that you guys even noticed I was gone.

Ah! The old days of Khalid bashing and Imoen busting.

Yes, I jumped for joy when I found that Khalid was dead in BG2. Gosh, I remember when Sniper registered! I also remember when the BG2 forum was added. I was looking desperately for help in BG and lo and behold!

*sniffle* I'm glad I have you guys!

I just looked over the BG forum to remind me of days gone by, and I was shocked to recognize people that no longer come here:

    Neo
    Ice Weasel
    Mr. Do'Urdon

    Where'd they go?

I remember when the you had to post messages here on paper, and they were tacked to Tal's wall in his room...Then he would relay them to everyone else... :D

Okay...I never thought so before, but I think I've been around a while....

[IMG] OK what's this moving on in life bit :D Some of us still love the games and more will always be coming out. I'm glad we have moved on from topics like "first post on this board" and the like that started the whole boards of magic thing. Those who have left will be remember but they are just missing out on all the new stuff coming up. I sure when TOB, NWN and other new games hit the shelves we will find more things to fight about (always in a civilized way).

I've still got some vague recollections of the first version of this site, and I guess I was with the first load who registered at these boards. But been away for long periods since the begin, which probably explains my low amount of posts :)

Buttkicking for goodness, that'll change!! :D

Ah yes, hooligan, my fellow Liverpool-fan! What d'ya think, 1-2 in Nou Camp and 3-0 at Anfield Road ? :)
