    Excuse my ignorance, but what is a DnD miniature?
    Is it a toy like a Star Wars action figure? Like a Drizzt figuirine with interchangeable scimitars instead of a Hans Solo one with extra blaster?

    I think they're used to help people with combat, so you know who is who and when what is where.

    When you buy the boxed sets, you can play with the skirmish rules using the miniatures, maps and cards provided inside.

    Think of it as a more sophisticated version of a PlaySkool figure.
