Never Winter Nights will probably be just as good if not much better than BG. Only thing is we have to wait for it ;)

I'm eagerly anticipating a D&D 3E CRPG such as Neverwinter Nights. The only thing I'm fearing is the Item Creation system and the low stat-buy standards. A 32-point buy system would be great instead of the standard 25, which barely allows for a prime requisite of 15.

At any rate, if this is going to evolve into a NWN discussion, it should be either moved or re-created in that forum.

Sadly enough, you are correct about it being the final Baldur's Gate game, though expect to see tons of fan-created add-ons and add-ins.

Oh it was a sad sad day when i finished tob and we (me and my fairy dragon :p) mourn the loss greatly.

Moving onwards i see neverwinter funs ahead :) imo the point buy system is really great although the 25 point could be increased. however it makes more sense cause the chars aren't all supposed to have super human abilities anyways. I mean come on fighters don't all have to have exceptional 18/xx str and so on. Well, hmm i'm really off topic as well as the board it seems :)

It may be the final chapter as Gorion's ward, however there is another Baldur's Gate game coming out, but it's for the PS2 (it's called "Dark Alliance"). I think it's due out here (Australia) in mid December, so it'll probably hit America, etc pretty soon (if it's on time).

I hate to be narrow-minded, but somehow the words "Baldur's Gate" and "PS2" don't fly together in the same sentence for me either. I'll take my ToB :D

I have heard hints when reading at least one article with the game designers that there could be another BG game, just not with the bhallspawn storyline and not with the infinify engine, and I don't think they were refering to that Playstation monstrosity either. All things aside, it's a sad farewell for now. I'm skeptical of the glory of NWN. I can't wait of course, but as for as the basic game goes, I'll take a wait and see aproach. And if you've tried creating any of the trickier character classes or multiclass combos with 25 point buy before, you would see it's rather tough. 32 point buy will start you off with decent stats to have a fighter/mage or a paladin or something of the sort. 25 is fairly stingy. But off that topic, if you miss the infinity engine already, aparenty they are working on IWD2 for all the dungeon crawl fans out there. It doesn't really help with the loss of BG, but if you want to reminess, you might pick it up later this year (?).

What I think would be cool is if instead of them telling you the epilogue of each of your characters, it would kinda let you play those out. Only thing I suppose is that those who wanted a challenge would probably be sorely disappointed, espcially if you chose the mortal path. I've heard/know how it is extremely hard to create a story for characters that are 30+, as the monsters just aren't that tough... I mean there can only be so many demogorgans etc. around.... :(

[IMG] Hey dragon, you're not quite lost ... you can still, just like I did with BG-1 and BG-2, play the game several times while finding new odds and ends every time ;)
