Ideas for "Tank Viconia"?

Greetings folks!

I'd really aprreciate any ideas for turning Viconia into a tank. So far, I'm only sure about Crom Faeyr. What stuff do you folks think she should be wearing?

My party so far, just in case you wanna know:
Elven Wild Mage (Me)
Sarevok
Mazzy
Cernd
Imoen
Viconia

*note: Jaheira, Minsc and Korgan are in bits and pieces, can't resurrect them.

I'll prioritize Viconia for stuff, so if you have some great ideas for equipment, I'll strip them off those who are currently using them.

I have done some consideration for next time through bg2 and tob

Crom dualwielding with flail of ages +5

Until the time you get the flail, use crom together with the most heavy AC shield you can find (I believe you get a rather good one after Yaga-Shura).

Remember to put armor of faith(lvl 1) on her later on, 25% physical resistance is really nice for a cleric
She gets an awesome ring when level 25, the other ring probably should be something that gives AC and saving throw boni.

For headgear, the helm of balduran is nice, but there's some ioun stones that are quite nice as well.

Boots of speed, belt of inetial barrier, amulet of power, bracers of weapon specialisation

Why do you want to turn a ONE ATTACK PER ROUND cleric into a frontliner? You may be able to decrease her AC quite a bit but in ToB she is still going to get hit... is she going to survive very long with her hit points?... is she going to hit anything?... and do any damage?

Frontliners in ToB really need those high level abilities - Whirlwind, Deathblow, Hardiness. Viconia is not going to get these, instead she get's spells, not really useful for a tank.


EDIT: The very idea of wasteing a powerful weapon like Crom Faeyr on Viconia is blasphemy imo.

The weapons are great for her, but there are so many extremely good weapons in the game that you won't need all of them and the 2 attacks provided this way will hit just fine if you know how to mix a party!

My tanks are me, sarevok and viccy
me - Dualwielding Foebane & Axe of unyielding
sarevok - swapping different 2handed weapons, hard to decide
viccy - as stated above, and they kick your bully arse , especially with that faith of armor along many of the other spells

 

Wish I could use the traditional frontliners Mirkwood. But in my game, they're all bits and pieces(see above). And my playing style as of the moment makes me look for a three tank group. I figure Viccy with her Magic Resistance might do a better job than the others who remain. And I don't really like Anomen, I used him in most of my SoA adventures and I wanna try who what most say is the best cleric in the game.

Get your point though. Problem is... *sniff*,... there'd no one left.

One of the best items for Viconia is the Girdle of Fortitude, because it gives a verty good bonus to her hit points. I also give her a Plate of Balduran (HP bonus also) and a +5 Shield.

Plus, Armor of Faith is truly an amazing spell - it not only gives 25% resistance to physical damage, but to all the elements and magic damage as well. At least it did for my R/C.

You can also use the Defender of Easthaven for more damage resistance.

 

Thank you folks for all your help. Been trying out your suggestions. Its only a matter of finding the other stuff you mentioned.

In my game, they're all dead. At least, most of them. Nope, can't ressurect them either. I'm left with Sarevok and Mazzy.

 

I think that you should get her a girdle of fire giant strength, her base str is only a mere 9 is it not???
