I loved DAO. My son bought me an electronic version of DA2 from Amazon, but between the reviews and a lack of time I never actually even started the game. I may have not even have loaded it (I can't remember). Anyways I was thinking about giving it a shot and was wondering a couple of things.

    1. I figure it is fully patched by now and that it should work. Correct?
    2. Are there any mods, editors, etc. that I should load before playing.
    3. Is there a walk-through that is considered the best that I should look at getting so I hit everything in the game
    4. Anything else?

Wow, this is a blast from the past. I never actually got around to playing this game. Now that I'm between games, I am trying to decide if I should give this a shot. Any thoughts?

In spite of its flaws, it's not actually a bad game. It's very different from DA:O though. If you plan on moving on to DA:I afterwards, you might as well play it.

If you're looking for a good RPG to play though, there are plenty of better options.

I gave up. I redownloaded it from Amazon, but then it was asking me for all sorts of passwords and logins for Bioware, which weren't matching what I had in my records and decided it just wasn't worth it. I might just give the Pillars of Eternity a shot instead.

I'm pretty sure EA only has one unified account now.

Pillars of Eternity is definitely a better choice. I also highly recommend the IE mod, even on a first playthrough. Obviously, you shouldn't use it to disable major features until you've tried them out first.
