In character? (by GopherBoy) - also on making new characters

okay, this is my third time through BGII.
On my first two i never played until Hell, because i wanted to do this with a 'Special' character.

Im really gonna go for it no though, so im hard pressed to go for a great class. I'm a really Roleplay-ish guy and everything has to go as it would. The factors here are:

    1. Background - Does the background of the class fit in with what the story is?
Eg. A Sorcerer is described as "Dragons walking in human form, or may even be spawn of the gods themselves" This fits well with the story.

    2. Future - Does the class get High-Level abilities that are worthy? I know full well what abilities each class gets (ive reas the maual) but do they fit in?

    3. Path - What alignment should he/she be? It has got to fit quite well. Eg. Thieves and sorcerers would be evil, its in their nature. Mages would be lawful lest they get arrested because of Dangerous use of Magic etc...

    4. Path 2 - what path should he/she take? Taking a good path would make sense as Gorion was good and always teaching you to be so. Evil would make sense as the character would get power hungry in the prospect of becoming a god!

These questions are very relevant, and if you could answer them in that order it would really help. What would you make a char in this case? This method i think should be used everytime.

PS. I dont cheat with SK unless its background-wise. Eg: Make a Halfling bard, as they are very in-character.

    Please reply, thanks a lot.

About path, thieves are not necessarily evil. As far as what path to take, neutral seems right because it sounds like you don't know yet whether your character is good or evil.

As far as makeing classes fit

Fighter+kits, and paldin+kits, every comunity has protecters Cantlekeep was no different.

Ranger+kits, Archer fits best with previous bit and shooting over walls.

Druid, thief, and barbarean, I cant think at the moment

Mage Cantlekeep was center of lerning so this fits
    sorcerer you have

Monk also hard untill you realise that many of the people in Candlekeep were labled monk when you were there.

Hope that helps... and otherpeople can fit things in that I missed.
