Installation Problems

    Remove all ads!
    I recently reinstalled IWD, HOW, & Trials. When I installed the v106 patch, then started the game, I got a blank game creation panel. Plus, when I try to load the game, it locks up and gives me an error message. What's up there? I can't even use the cheats, it just keeps telling me "nice try cheater".

    What do I do?

    [​IMG] How did you install them exactly? The order should be thus:
    IWD first
    HoW second
    HoW patch
    ToTL

    Not in any other order like patch on top of Trials of the Luremaster. That could screw your game up. (You don't need the IWD patch since it is installed automatically with HoW.)

    I just finished the install just like you said, and I still don't have the ability to use cheats.
    I also went into the configuration and turned the cheats on, in the settings.

    is this normal?

    [​IMG] The 1.06 patch is not for Heart of Winter, but for Icewind Dale only. That's why the game doesn't work.

    Torg Polaris KI, if you turned the cheats on in the game options, you should be able to bring the console up in the game.

    Try adding Cheats=1 under [Game Options] in the icewind.ini file.

    Can you bring up the console?

    I tried everything like you said on the install, and on the console with the cheats, and I also edited the icewind.ini file with the command. other than that, I have the godlike script, which is decent for some cheats.
