So, I'm just getting ready to leave the underdark, and the battle with Irenicus is looming before me...I'm not worried about beating him, but I'm trying to think ahead about ToB. My party consists of My PC(Fighter/Thief),Jaheria, Nalia, Anomen, Minsc, and Imoen, who, through a little tinkering with Shadowkeeper ( ;) ,is now a sorcerer. My "theme" this time through is to play-through the penultimate Bhaalspawn saga, with what I consider to be the most important characters (from a storytelling PoV). Now I'd really like to take Sarevok along, but I'm not sure who to drop. Any thoughts?

The Irenicus battle isn't that close yet, you still have some things to do.

As for who to drop... you have a bunch of wizards and fighters... but because Imoen is now a pure sorcerer, she can cover most of your spells. Perhaps Nalia might go...

But, that would leave you with Minsc, your PC, Sarevok, Anomen, and Jaheira all as capable fighters. I would drop one of them. Anomen is not as good as Jaheira, I think, so I would say drop him.

Normally I'd tell you to drop Nalia, but she's actually useful if Immy is a sorc, if only for spell variety. Definitely drop Anomen.

(Of course, I'd drop both Nalia and Anomen, but that's just because I hate them so. ;) )

If your goal is truly "the Penultimate Bhaalspawn Saga" with the most important characters, then your choice is really only Anomen or Nalia. All the others, including Sarevok, have been with you since practically day one. More importantly, they've all lost something due to their association with you and your tainted blood. They've all invested heavily in your struggle.

I'd drop Nalia, but that's probably because I don't much care for her. However, with your PC, Sarevok, Minsc and Jaheira, you've got the front line covered, and the extra mage support will probably be invaluable during the ToB homestretch. Since there aren't that many undead to dispatch in ToB, I'd reluctantly have to go with ditching Anomen.
