Has anyone noticed that when you equip, lets say a sword, in the right hand and an axe in the left hand on the Inventory screen and return to the the "normal" screen the items are in the opposite hand! Why is this? It seems to be a mirror effect of some sort. Why didn't anyone fix this in a patch? So, does this effect which hand suffers a penalty when duel whielding weapons?
    Probly not...

Walk back and forwards so that you face left and right. The weapons change hands. So either the off-hand, or the main hand (I can't remember which) is on the side which "faces out of the screen".

I experienced it too when wielding a weapon in left hand which should be the right on the paperdoll. I began to switch a little around and it all fixed itself. Just graphic.. no hit-penalties at all.

This 'hand change' shows better if you have a shield equipped.

[IMG] They should've fixed more things before releasing the game, if you ask me... :nolike:

It's amazing to see people actually living in the game... Why are you taking such stuff seriously?

[IMG] does it account for two-handed weapons as well, when they're holding them with both hands?

    [EDIT]

they have their hands at different places, and I don't want to sum up the entire Halberd and Spear holding discussion again :p

When using a polearm (spear, halberd, etc) you usually put your hands a certain distance apart.... oh.... let's not get into this again!! :D ;)

Yes, this is just a simple mirror effect. If you check the characters (or almost any other living thing ingame) you will notice, that both side of them (at left hand/right hand) are similar, the texture is just simetrical. This is one often used effect in many cases, it can be found in sooo many games - most disturbing it is.

[IMG] Most disturbing it is? Deano says you can configure it through options to not do it. So what are you complaining about ;)

heh there's no such option AFAIK. I suppose he was referring to the software rendering of mirror blit functions, which only comes into play when you have problems with your graphics card.

come on it's not disturbing, only a bit annoying if you get obsessed with it

Are you reffering to the Software Mirror BLT option I see when I go to options and graphics once inside the game? Yeah it says something about enabling it if you have problems, I enabled it to see what would happen and it still does the mirror thing. I couldn't find any other options either in game or through BG config. Oh well its still a miniscule thing, like I said, I had never even noticed it.
