Ok, me and a friend of mine have been wanting to play Icewind dale with each other online.

We are both behind routers, and I've forwarded the correct ports on my router when I host. The ports being, TCP and UDP ports 2300-2400 and TCP ports 47624-49672. I also have my software firewall configured correctly.

Even after configuring this whenever we try to connect to each others games it will tell us "Could not connect". We both have the same mods installed, and have tried playing over Gamespy as well. I've even tried setting up my computer as a DMZ Host which didn't solve the problem.

I'm out of ideas and was hoping someone here could help.

The 3 mods we have installed are the iwd_xpcap, iwd_lvl40, and iwd_mage8-9. These 3 are available on this wonderful site :) .

I tried testing a multiplayer game over my LAN to see if there might be something from the mods that mess up multiplayer games but it worked so that leaves me with the assumption that traffic is being blocked.

I'm out of ideas and was hoping someone here could help. Thanks for your time!

Hmm... what about the patch? It looks like that for me whenever I try to play with someone who doesn't have the patch installed.

No it didn't have anything to do with the patch. My friend and I did manage to fix the problem.

We both had to set our routers on DMZ Host (this if you didn't know, sets your computer up outside of the router firewall so traffic isn't blocked). It's funny because i searched everywhere and opened every port needed yet it still did not work.

So for anybody having this problem try setting up DMZ Host and that should fix it!
