Does anyone else find it unfulfilling? The romance itself is pretty good, and with a well-told story it gets built up very well. But the ending leaves me a little flat. You go through a great story only to for the ending to be that you and Jaheira wind up being occasional lovers, who can spend years apart? If I was the Child of Bhaal, I wouldn’t be happy giving it up for a lover I’d be apart from for years at a time on a regular basis. To me, it sounds more like a friendship with benefits than a real romance. Am I making sense here or am I just jaded?

It doesn't state that their absence happens on regular basis. It rather states that when the absence did happen, there was no worry in them, because they knew that no matter what happens, they would always came back to one another. So no, I don't agree with you, I find this ending very fulfilling :) True love in all it's might you may say.

However, NPC flirt pack introduces three new endings to her romance, and one of them is MUCH better then the original(much longer too). I suggest you download it, and try it. I think you won't be dissapointed.

It doesn't come out and say they are regularly apart, but the ending does read like that.

I have the NPC flirt pack, but I've never come across these three new endings you talk about.

Be that as it may, I still like it. Very much.

    *SLIGHT SPOILERS ABOUT ALTERNATE ENDING!*

About those alternate endings: somewhere in ToB she should ask you about your future(yours and hers, together, offcourse). To me, this happened right after defeating Draconis(convinient timing, I know :p ). When this happens, I said I would keep fighting evil with the sexiest woman on the world :D That got me the good ending. There are two more, depending on your choice in that dialogue. One of them is bad, and one of them is kinda neutral, IIRC. Oh yeah, and if you say that things will be as they have always been, you'll get the same ending as in vanilla game.
