Jaheira Won't Leave

Yes, before anyone sends assasins after me... I did much searching. And yes, I already followed all the suggestions I could find. (There is much to read through regarding Jaheira bugs.)

After giving bird/montaron/lucette to Xzar, and after Xzar dies, Jaheira does *not* get whisked away on some Harper errand.

I have slept outside and inside, above ground and below.

I have left the city and come back to the docks.

I am female and *not* romancing Jaheira.

I have not yet installed ToB.

Thinking there might be Kelsey/Sola romance problems I uninstalled them.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the whole game. This time I added *only* the official SoA patch. I took the game back to entering Harper Hall for the first time to get Monty. I repeated all the above steps.

Still no one comes for Jaheira. Is there a fix for this particular bug? Or, is there a cheat to force the appearance of Meronia to come get Jaheira?

Try to rest somewhere (open air) like Windspear Hills after some days (maybe a week...it could take more time if you were romancing her, but that's not the case) you've killed Xzar! Some men should appear to try to "rob" you while you sleep but when you wake up they will get Jaheira as hostage. Immediatly after you kill the "bandits" (not those that appear from area to area...these ones that attack you while you sleep have some of them to have names, particularly their leader)Meronia should appear immediatly!!! Hope I'm right and being able to help you. Good luck.

 

I've been through this part of the game at least three times before, and IIRC every time Meronia came within minutes of Xzar's death, and she came right to me in the docks. I've never gotten stuck here before.

I will try letting a few days go by. But its aggravating to keep replaying the same 24 hours of activity, and not knowing if Jaheira's going to leave this time or not. (I might have to do it all again... and again... and again).

 

Perhaps she likes you too much to let you go. What I would try, is install ToB, then install ToB's patch...if that doesn't fix things, well, I don't know what to tell you.

 

And install Fix Patch on Sorcerer's Net.It fixes many problems.
This happened to me too.When i was romancing with Jaheira and for Slayer Dream.I got Slayer Dream after Asylum,...that never happened before.

 

Isn't Xzar that Necromancer you meet in the Crossoads to Beregost/CandleKeep/FAI? He is quite mean magician... I didn't accept him even when I saw him, although it was quite difficult, with the mage who attacks me at FAI... I had about 4 or 5 times reloading, because of him - but I killed him for good...

 

I've installed the SN fixpatch. Does that include what i've referred to as the 'improved jaheira romance patch'?

 

I uninstalled and reinstalled. No mods. No shadowkeeper. Only the official fix pack. I did play around with portraits. Then I started the game over from the beginning.

When I got to the end of the scene where Xzar is killed by bird/montaron/lucette... Meronia came immediately to recruit Jaheira, just the way I remembered.

-phew- Wish I hadn't had to start over though. I've completed Chapter 1 about 12 times now, but I've only gotten to Chapter 5 once. (I'm a perfectionist. Once I realize I've missed a quest I just have to go back.) I'm really eager to see how this all turns out.

 

Incredible, you're just like me. Im my first time of BG 2, when I realized I had lost a lot of quests and npc's by through the game , I simply stopped the game and started all over again...now I'm finishing it for the sixth time (I'm not counting the times I reloaded it to start again, this way I may have played the 2nd and 3rd chapters a few times)...hehehehehe. But I'm happy you had luck with Meronia, 'cause for me this womam was a trouble every time I tried to romance Jaheira...just for love!
