[IMG] I finished Kingmaker yesterday, and maybe it's just me, but I think this was by far the WORST mod I've played for NWN. (Yes, worse than the OC.)

To start with, I don't like when any game gives me "companions that I've been through so much with". (Darkness over Daggerford did this too...and I didn't like that either.)

But it's worse here because the henchmen...God...were they TRYING to make them annoying. OK, the Azer was at least tolerable...despite his bad Sean Connery impersonation. But the others...the Rakhasa and the Wererat were so annoying I was quite glad to sent them to their death (which was a REALLY STUPID game mechanic also). The nymph might have been interesting, her backstory sounded like it could have been cool, but her "accent" was TERRIBLE. Could they not get access to the real voice actors.

I don't even want to mention the overpowered magic sword...totally unnessary.

Now, the plot...at first it sounded somewhat interesting...get a bunch of people to vote for me to rule the keep. Great, except almost every "quest" was the same. Ask them a couple of times, maybe do some extremely easy sidequest and your done.

Plus, the time crunch killed any urge to do to many sidequests...why force the player to rush? seems like there were so many missed opportunities...the haunted house, the henchmen backstories, etc. But I felt like I didn't have time to figure anything out.

As for the story...the ending, where they "reveal" who the sword is, and the masked man, and you, and your parents...pathetic. Too many coincidences and for what purpose?

I'm glad that I got this in the diamond collection and didn't pay for it seperately...I would have felt more ripped off.

Bioware chaarging for this though...that's not cool at all.

    *Sigh*

Think I'll stay far away from the other "premium" mods now...

    -D

Actually, the premium modules that came after the initial three are much better.
